Progress in laboratory testing of thyroid disease

Jim Faix

Jim Faix, PhD obtained his MD at Hahnemann Medical School (now part of Drexel University) in Philadelphia, PA and performed his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA. He also completed a fellowship in Clinical Immunology there. He served as Director of Clinical Immunology and Associate Director of Clinical Chemistry at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston and as Director of the Clinical Laboratory at Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston before moving to Stanford University, CA in 2001 where he was Director of Clinical Chemistry and Immunology and Associate Professor of Pathology. Research interests include markers of sepsis and autoimmune disease. He is active in the AACC  as well as the College of American Pathologists. He recently became Director of Clinical Chemistry and Immunology at Montefiore Medical Center and Clinical Professor of Pathology at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine in New York, NY.
